Can’t Find An ISP in the Merrimack Valley Region?

July 2nd, 2008

Many high speed internet providers have chose not to lay down broadband infrastructure in the rural regions of the U.S. including some areas of the Merrimack Valley region. But there is still hope. You may have more broadband options than you think. One of the best solutions if you are enjoying the coastline but would like to get connected with the world is to purchase a wireless card for your laptop. If you are thinking of a more permanent option you may even consider looking into a satellite ISP.

Does Living On the Coast Make You Stronger?

June 28th, 2008

While this idea that living on the coast makes you stronger may sound silly, when you take into consideration the many things martimers must endure for the coastal lifestyle, you might change your tune.  Could it be that living near the water forces people to stay in shape because they know every weekend is potentially a beach weekend?  Might it be that sailing or canoeing require a lot of upper body strength.  Your guess is as good as mine.

A Feeling That Can Not Be Described

June 22nd, 2008

By now it is probably scientific fact but isn’t there just something somewhat theraputic about spending the day next to a body of water?  Wether you are sailing or simply lying on the beach with your chizzled abs, the sounds of the water simply soothe all your stress away.  For many people who live away from the coast lines, this may seem strange but I can make a virtual bet that if by chance they should venture out to the coast, they’ll discover an oasis that never ends.

A Brief History of Maritime Living

June 19th, 2008

If you grew up early in America’s history, the chances are that you lived in very close proximity to the sea.  This was simply because for all practical purposes, travel and the movement of goods and services at that time was very archaic. The Maritime Society museum focuses your attention on this fact and offers an educational display sure the enlightened those who come. While it may appear to be a laid back lifestyle, maritime living did require work which is what we today would call modern day exercise.  No need for diets back then, the sweat of your brow is what brought about the shedding of unwanted pounds. These folks did not have access to sites like Medifast or weight watchers.
